I was so frustrated I stole my husband's aftershave.

Standing in my bathroom. Freshly shaved. Thinking about rubbing in lotion forever and waiting for it to absorb so I could get dressed. Ten minutes. Every single morning.

And one day. I just couldn't. So, I grabbed his aftershave. Applied it to one leg. Thirty seconds later that leg was dry.

I couldn't stop thinking about it. It wasn't designed for women. Nothing in the post-shave category was. The industry had lotion. Lotion kind of worked. Nobody asked if something better was possible.

I asked. That became Bellacqua.

Fifteen years in CPG manufacturing. I know why products get built the way they do — and why corners get cut.

When Michelle showed me what she'd found I wasn't surprised. Water-based formulations work with how skin actually behaves. The industry defaults to oil because it's cheaper to preserve and easier to manufacture. Not because it's better for skin.

My job at Bellacqua is to make sure the manufacturing and supply chain work as well as the product does. Michelle figured out what needed to exist. I make sure it gets built right.
